Ricky Groves voted off Strictly Come Dancing
Ex-EastEnders star Ricky Groves has been voted off of Strictly Come Dancing after he failed to impress any of the judges with his tango last night. After finishing at the bottom of the scoreboard with only twenty-two points Ricky and his partner Erin Boag were forced into a dance off with the star of Footballer’s Wives, Laila Rouass. Although head of the Judges Len Goodman said that his dancing had been much better during the dance off than it had been in his earlier routine he had to admit that it hadn’t been quite good enough to warrant his staying in the competition. One of the other judges, Craig Revel Horwood described Ricky’s performance as mechanical.
Ricky was however willing to criticize his efforts by saying that he was unable to come up with any excuses for his lackluster performance and admitted that he had mucked up. The four judges were unanimous in their decision to keep Laila Rouass in the competition and send Ricky home.
Judge Bruno Tonioli has recently been criticizing the men who appear on the show. He said that Ricky was definitely not a natural when it came to dancing and that because he always sweats too much he always looks like he has just come out of a sauna. He also said of the sports presenter Chris Hollins that his range of facial expressions were very off putting saying that they were worse than those of comedian Frankie Howerd. He went on to say that the dancer sometimes reminded him of a fish or a spoiled child.
