X Factor Gives Jedward the Boot

“X Factor” twins John and Edward Grimes, known by many now as Jedward, have been voted off of the show after losing a sing-off with Olly Murs, a favorite on the show. The 18-year-olds sang “No Matter What” by Boyzone, but they didn’t have any gimmicks or dancing to go with it. Then Olly performed “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton, which made him the judges’ favorite.

Judge Louis Walsh, who was also the twins’ mentor, voted for the duo, but the other judges didn’t. Dannii Minogue, who has always voted based on the contestants’ singing talent, was the last to cast her vote for the boys to leave the show.

The twins continued to smile as they were told that they wouldn’t continued, saying that Olly deserved to reach the final. They said that they have had the greatest experience of their lives, as they have been on live television for past seven weekends. Louis added that he had the best time working with the twins.

Jedward have been very controversial in this year’s “X Factor”, receiving much criticism for their lack of singing and dancing talent. Head judge Simon Cowell, along with plenty of media and viewers, openly bashed the pair for weeks. It wasn’t until only about two weeks ago that Simon gave up the fight and began to understand why so many people like them, which then changed many other peoples’ minds too.

Although the competition road has come to an end for John and Edward, there is still much for them to do in the performance world, as they will be joining the other chose finalists for the show’s tour. There’s no telling what will happen after that, but they are rumored to already be talking about a single. With the number of fans that they have, they could go far!
