Susan Boyle’s Album to Top Popular Artists

Susan Boyle literally came out of nowhere when she auditioned for “Britain’s Got Talent” in April this year and took the world by storm. Footage of her performance of “I Dreamed A Dream” has been seen by millions on YouTube, so it is only fitting that her new album, which is also called “I Dreamed A Dream” will sell a huge amount of copies, beating out top artists to be number one on the album charts both in the US and UK.

Early estimates from the US predict that she will sell at least 600,000 during this first week, as the album was released on Monday. The UK has changed their prediction from 300,000 about 400,000. This will move Boyle close to beating Take That’s “The Circus” album sells of 432,490, which was last year’s record and the third highest in history in the UK.

It is expected that she will even top the new album releases from top artists like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Adam Lambert in the US. Estimated sales for Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” album is 210,000-230,000, which would put him in second on the chart. Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster” and Rihanna’s “Rated R” albums are both projected to sell 180,000-200,000 copies, although it is expected that Lady Gaga will come out on top to take third on the chart. It is also predicted that Boyle’s album will sell more than the top selling album for first week sales this year in the US, which was Eminem’s “Relapse”.

However, Boyle still seems to be a little fragile with the whole fame thing, as she broke down in tears after performing live on the “Today Show” in New York. Although she was able to pull herself back together rather quickly, according to a witness, many eyes will be watching her for the rest of the week during her huge success on the album charts. Hopefully she will be able to avoid another trip to the hospital for a panic attack.
