Marilyn Monroe Smokes Pot in Home Video

A home video of Marilyn Monroe has been revealed some fifty years after it was filmed. The video was retrieved from an attic and seems to show the famous actress smoking marijuana. It was filmed at a private house in New Jersey and is a reel-to-reel silent color video. It was just recently bought for £180,000 ($275,000) by Keya Morgan, a collector, from the person that filmed it.

During one part of the film, Monroe is passed a cigarette and smokes it. However, she doesn’t appear to inhale the smoke deeply, sniffing an armpit and laughing about it shortly after. The person that made the film, who wishes to remain anonymous, has confirmed that marijuana was in the cigarette and said that they were the one who got the pot and just passed it around. They continued that it wasn’t a party, just a group of friends getting together to hang out.

Keya Morgan collects historical photos, autographs, manuscripts and other documents. He found out about the film while researching and tracking down the owner. Based on Monroe’s appearance in the video, it dates back to 1958 or 1959. Morgan said that the film shows a personal side of her that no one has seen before; no one has seen her in such a relaxed pose. He is planning to sell the copyright of the video on eBay later this week.

The collector is also working on a documentary about Marilyn Monroe’s death in August 1962 when she overdosed on chloral hydrate and Nembutal. It was predicted that she took about 50 pills.
