Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood Arrested for Assault
On Wednesday night, the guitarist for English rock band Rolling Stones was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault after an incident in a Surrey village. A spokesman for the police confirmed that the 62-year-old was arrested in connection with a domestic assault in Claygate high street. However, he was unable to give any other details and couldn’t say who filed the complaint, as they are still investigating the incident.
Wood’s spokesman, David Rigg of Project Associates, also confirmed that there was an incident on Wednesday night, and Wood was arrested, for which he was released on bail. However, he didn’t give any more details about the incident either.
It’s understood, though, that the assault was on his 20-year-old Russian girlfriend, Ekaterina Ivanova, during a violent argument. He was questioned by the authorities and then released on bail Thursday, but will faces more questioning by police in January.
This is the most recent chaos in the rocker’s relationship, as police were called to their home during September after a fight where she was said to have threatened to kill herself. The two met at a club in London where she was a cocktail waitress, while he was still married to his second wife Jo. He left Jo after being married to her for 24 years to be with Ekaterina.
The musician and cocktail waitress have been together for a year now, in an on-off relationship. However, the divorce, which is said to have cost Wood about £6.5 million, was only made official last month. Wood and Jo have two children together - Leah and Tyrone.
