Queen calls for more privacy

The royal family has announced that it is no longer going to accept what they see as an invasion of privacy by the paparazzi as they go about their daily business. The Queen and the heir to the throne Prince Charles have asked lawyer Gerard Tyrell to come up with new guidelines to curb the intrusion by the press and their long lens cameras.

Tyrell is an expert in privacy law and has already played a part in a privacy action on behalf of Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton. It is thought that Tyrell has already been in contact with representatives of the palace over what action should now be taken against the prying paparazzi. It is thought that members of the press who get too close could face civil and criminal action.

Photographers have been able to take photographs which show the royals in less than spectacular light. One picture features the Queen ringing the neck of a pheasant on one of her estates. Another infamous shot shows Prince Edward apparently beating one of his dogs with a walking stick.

A spokesperson for the palace has confirmed that the royal family wants to crack down on press intrusion. The spokesperson went on to explain that it is not a sudden turn of events but rather a trend which has been developing for some time.

Gerard Tyrell has also represented stars such as David and Victoria Beckham, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and Liverpool and England football player Steven Gerrard.
