Danyl Johnson Not a X Factor Finalist

The “X Factor” finalists were revealed on Sunday after Danyl Johnson was voted off the semi-final show. The contestant was considered a favorite early on in the show and was put in the bottom two in week three, but received the least votes from the public this weekend. He was also Simon Cowell’s, the head judge on the show and Danyl’s mentor, favorite to win.

Upon being told, Danyl said that he has been voted off against some of the best people he’s ever met, and it will be an amazing final for them, adding that he has made friends for life doing the show and looks forward to doing gigs in the future. Simon said that there’s nothing he would have changed about the performance, but he is genuinely upset about his leaving, yet glad to have had the pleasure of working with him.

Danyl performed Michael Jackson’s “Man in The Mirror” for the competition’s theme of Michael Jackson songs, while Simon chose for him to also sing “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. His performances were obviously not as thrilling to the viewers, but as they are getting down to the last few, it’s hard to say that he did bad. Danyl has a lot of talent and performed the works well.

Now Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry and Olly Murs will go on to battle it out during the final, which will air on STV at 7:30pm on December 12, with the results episode to follow the next day. Upon winning the “X Factor” 2009, the winner will get an exclusive record contract for their first album.

Plus, after the show is over, eight of the final contests will go on tour for the show. This will include previously eliminate acts Jamie Archer, Lloyd Daniels, Lucie Jones, and twins John and Edward Grimes. The group’s single was just recently chosen by Simon to be Miley Cyrus’s “The Climb”.
