Biggest Loser Finale Winner and Proposal
The finale of “The Biggest Loser” season 8 was aired on Tuesday, and the winner was announced. However, viewers got another surprise when a marriage proposal was made.
Danny Cahill was the winner of this year’s “The Biggest Loser: Second Chances”, the eighth season of the NBC reality series. He lost a total of 239 pounds, going from 430 pounds to just 191 pounds. He now looks wonderful and healthy in comparison to his before pictures. He certainly is excited about winning too, as he will receive $250,000 for all his hard work. Rudy Pauls came close on Cahill’s heels though, losing a total of 234 pounds.
The biggest surprise of the night wasn’t the winning announcement, however. It was the marriage proposal by Antoine Dove to Alexandra White. The couple met each other during the show, but were both kicked off early in the series. However, they had a connection and have been dating ever since filming, as well as working out together, for which they have both lost a good amount of weight.
There were tears, of course, in the audience (no doubt from home viewers as well) when he made the proposal, saying he loves her with all his heart and wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the impossible without her (while he was tearing up too). It would have been a disaster for him if she had said no, but she happily accepted, with tears of joy.
Another big surprise was for Shay Sorrells, the heaviest contestant ever on the show, only losing 172 pounds to weigh 304 pounds. For motivation to keep her on track of losing more weight, the show invited her to return for the next season finale in May, and for every pound she has lost by that time, Subway will give her $1,000. If she really keeps at it, Sorrells has the opportunity to get nearly as much as money as if she had won the show. Good luck!
