Ricky and Chris go head to head in Strictly final
Ricky Whittle will dance against Chris Hollins in next week’s Strictly Come Dancing final as Ali Bastian and her partner Brian Fortuna are told to go home. The shock result came after the pair managed to score an amazing fifty out of fifty for their American Smooth from the shows five judges. Darcy Bussell joined the team of judges this week and said of the couple’s Argentine Tango that although there was not much wrong with it the performance could have been smoother and a little sharper.
Favourite to win the show Ricky Whittle and his partner Natalie Lowe put in a stellar performance and came out with a score of 96 points out of a possible 100 at the end of the night. Bruno Tonioli called the pair’s waltz elegant, refined and romantic. The couple followed up with an Argentine Tango which earned points as well as praise from all the judges. Darcy Bussell said that it was so good she could not tell whether or not Whittle was actually a professional dancer.
Of the three pairs performing on the show Chris Hollins and his partner Ola Jordan were the least impressive. Craig Revel Horwood seemed transfixed by how bad Chris’ hands were saying that they ruined the dance and wondered why he had not done something about how terrible they were. Len Goodman however praised the dancing saying that Chris had obviously put his heart into it. Although Chris and Ola scored the lowest points of the night from the judges the audience didn’t agree and used their votes to keep the couple in the show’s final.
