Joe and Olly to face each other in X Factor final
The battle for X Factor’s top prize is to be between Olly Murs and Joe McEldery as Stacey Solomon scores the lowest amount of public votes. The twenty-year-old mother said that she had had the time of her life on the show and her mentor Dannii Minogue called her an amazing friend, a talent and a star. Amongst those sad to see the Dagenham girl go home is fan Prince Harry who was in the audience with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy giving standing ovations to all three of the acts.
Tonight’s show is expected to pull in around 20 million viewers and will hopefully see judge Cheryl Cole wear a dress that she can actually walk in. The singer wore a fish-tailed number so tight that she was having real trouble coping with obstacles such as steps. Cole seemed as if she might burst into tears as she held Joe McEldey’s head whilst waiting for the results to be announced. She said that she would not be able to bear it if he did not make it into the final.
Olly Murs managed to convince the judges as well as viewers of his right to be in the final even though his duet with Robbie Williams was a bit like a pair of boys on a stag do. Robbie even managed to fluff the lines to his own song Angels. Olly is the outsider to win the competition tonight with odds of 3/1 but Joe McKeldery is still the bookies favourite at 7/2. Simon Cowell said that this was the closest competition he had ever been involved in and declared that he had no idea who would scoop the prize.
