Friends and Family Say Goodbye to Brittany Murphy
Brittany Murphy’s funeral took place this Christmas Eve in a small, private ceremony attended by family and friends. Her family released a statement to the press which said that she was a talented, loving and passionate artist and person and that she loved to perform through singing, acting, and dancing.
The statement, which was released Thursday, continued stating that her light would be forever gone from the world leaving it a little bit more dim, but that her life will live on in the lives she had touched.
The late actress was buried Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California. Family friend, Alex Ben block, who performed Murphy’s eulogy said that the funeral was intimate and fitting, and that he believed it was a respectful way to say goodbye to the late actress.
Husband, Simon Monjack, as well as several close friends and a cousin spoke as well about the actress sharing their favourite memories. Guests closed out the ceremony by singing Amazing Grace at the grave site.
Murphy died tragically and suddenly on Sunday at her home in the Hollywood Hills. Authorities are still looking into the death, but so far no foul play is thought to have gone on. An autopsy was performed, however, officials are awaiting a toxicology report to determine the true nature of her death.
