Sylvester Stallone Breaks Neck Filming

Sylvester Stallone, 63, is reported to have broken his neck while filming “The Expendables”, an upcoming action film. The “Rocky” star was hurt so bad that he had to have surgery for a hairline fracture, as well as have a metal plate put in his neck.

“The Expendables” features some of the biggest tough guy actors in the world, including Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren. The film is about a team of mercenaries that take on a mission to overthrow a dictator. Stallone was injured while doing a fight scene with Stone Cold Steve Austin, the wrestling star.

In an interview with men’s magazine FHM, Stallone said that the fight scene got so vicious that things got out of hand. There were seven guys fighting and beating each other up, he continued, with one being tougher than the next. The stunt guys were begging for mercy, and his fight against Stone Cold Steve Austin was so intense that he had to be treated for a hairline fracture in his neck. He added that he wasn’t joking and hadn’t told anyone about it, but he had to have a very serious operation due to the accident and has a metal plate in his neck now.

It’s a little amazing that he survived a neck break at his age, but he is built like a beast! Aside from being an actor in “The Expendables”, Stallone was also a director and writer. The late Brittany Murphy, who passed cardiac arrest last month, is also featured in the film.
