Sex Robot Roxxxy Makes AVN Debut
A US company located in New Jersey in the US is claiming they have created the first “sex robot” in the world named Roxxxy. This life-size rubber doll from True Companion LLC features life-like skin, stands 5 feet and 7 inches, weighs 120 pounds and has a full C cup.
The new technology was debuted at AVN 2010 (Adult Entertainment Expo) in Las Vegas this weekend. The Roxxxy robot features dark hair and neglegee, saying things like “I love holding hands with you”, which is triggered when the owner touches its hand, as well as more elicit conversation.
However, this robot has a lot more brains than that of a talking toy for a child. It is connected to a laptop through cables in its back and features touch sensors that can even sense when someone moves it. Roxxxy can’t move on her own, and the sound comes from an internal loudspeaker.
True Companion LLC founder Douglas Hines says that the Roxxxy robot is capable of having simple conversations with its owner. Their aim was to make her someone that the owner can relate and talk to, he continued, as she listens and responds accordingly like a normal person. Hines added that sex only goes so far, and then people want to be able to talk to the person.
Although the demonstrated phrases at AVN were prerecorded, the robot will be able to expand its capabilities and vocabulary through updates received by the laptop its connected to. Owners will also get to choose the personality of Roxxxy from 5 types, as well as features like race, breast size and hair color. Owners will be able to personalize their companion by answering questions about what they like when they order, which allows Roxxxy to be perfect for them.
All of this is expected to be priced between $7,000 and $9,000, which includes the laptop. They intend to begin shipping in a few months. They are even currently creating a male Rocky robot.
