Dexter Star getting Cancer Treatment

Michael C. Hall, the star of Showtime series Dexter, revealed that he has been getting treatment for cancer. The 38-year-old actor said in a statement on Wednesday that he was lucky enough to be diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is a disease that affects the immune system but is treatable and curable with a high recovery rate.

Hall’s statement added that he is nearly done with the treatment, which has sent the disease into remission. He also thanked his medical team in Los Angeles for their caring skill.

Craig Bankey, Hall’s spokesman, said that the cancer has been in total remission for some time. However, he noted that Hall will continue with the treatment as planned, adding that he will return for the production of Dexter’s season 5 later this year. The newest season is set to premiere in September.

Hall’s spokesman also proved that America’s favorite serial killer was really getting better by saying that he and Jennifer Carpenter, his wife and Dexter co-star (playing sister Deborah Morgan), still plan to go to the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday. Hall has been nominated for Best Actor in a Drama, while the show has been nominated for Best Drama.

He is also planning to go to the Screen Actors Guild Awards a week later (Saturday, January 23). Hall has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, while the series’ whole cast has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series.
