Saints Beat Colts for 1st Super Bowl Win

The New Orleans Saints have beat the Indianapolis Colts in a victory for the Super Bowl XLIV (44) title. The game has been hailed the most popular in the history of the competition and the best Super Bowl game in years.

The Saints were definitely pumped for their first trip to the Super Bowl ever, and then took the win all the way home. The city was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and many people are still recuperating from the damages. So this is a huge win, not only for the team, but really for the entire coast.

At the beginning of the game, the Saints punted their first drive and allowed the Colts to score on their first with a field goal. It wasn’t until after halftime, with the score 6-10 in favor of the Colts, that the Saints started to really get in their groove. As they started to fight back, the teams battled for points and came to 17-16 in favor of the Colts between touchdowns and more field goals.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees then found his drive to score a touchdown and two-point conversion to make the game 24-17 in their favor during the fourth quarter. When it was Colts quarterback Payton Manning’s turn, he threw an interception, which resulted in yet another touchdown for the Saints after a 74-yard run, bringing the score to 31-17.

After that, Manning got the Colts into the Red Zone again, but with penalties and a good defensive game, they couldn’t punch it in. This gave the ball back to the Saints with only like a minute left on the clock, giving them the victory.
