Olivier Theatre Awards Nominees

Nominees for the 2010 Laurence Olivier Awards were announced on Monday, and the list is full of top performers like Keira Knightley, Rachel Weisz, Gillian Anderson, James McAvoy and Jude Law. The Royal Court Theatre is up for the most awards with 15 for productions including Enron, Jerusalem and The Priority. The Donmar Warehouse follows with 10, and the National Theatre is close behind with 9.

Society of London Theatres president Nica Burns, who organizes the awards, said that a whole new generation of playwrights step into the spotlight during an outstanding year for drama. The voting for the best acting awards was so close that they had to increase the amount of nominations to include some of the most exciting young acting talent alongside some of the most acclaimed screen stars, she added.
