Brooklyn Decker Covers Sports Illustrated

Model Brooklyn Decker, the wife of tennis star Andy Roddick, has been featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue for this year. She said that being chosen for this was news of a lifetime. The cover shows Decker smiling and kind of wearing a yellow bikini. She said that she compares it to 1980s/90s covers.

Talking about her excitement, Decker told press that she is shocked and, although she’s never at a loss for words, she is now. She’s very thankful and happy, and she feels like how the Saints felt when they won the Super Bowl on Sunday. She even joked that her closet of swimsuits isn’t right for the television appearances that go with being on the cover, so now she has to make a mad dash to find outfits.

Decker also said that her mom, dad and husband were really shocked, happy and excited for her, adding that she was so happy she even cried. Roddick posted on his Twitter page that he is so happy and proud of Decker, adding that it’s unreal and exciting.

In celebration of the issue and the models, Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will be hosting a launch party tomorrow (February 11). Maroon 5 (they still exist?) will be performing. Afterward, SI Swimsuit Overtime will be hosted at The Venetian by TAO Nightclub.

News of the cover broke on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night. Sports Illustrated keeps the cover a secret from everyone (yes, everyone) until at least a day before it’s revealed. So there’s cause for so much excitement. The issue is set to hit shelves….wait….it’s out now!
