Gallagher Snubs Noel at BRIT Awards
The BRIT Awards had some memorable moments, and one of the most talked about is when Liam Gallagher snubbed his brother, Noel, during an acceptance speech for Best Previous BRIT Award-winning Record, where he refused to thank him. After the snub, Liam threw the trophy into the crowd.
Fans were appalled when Liam walked onto the stage to collect the trophy on behalf of the now broken up Oasis band. The group split last August after Noel walked out just before a performance after the two siblings got in a fight.
Liam didn’t bother to thank his brother in helping to write and put together the album that won the band the award; however, didn’t forget to thank the other former bandmates. After his minimal thanks, he told the audience that the best bands in the f***ing world live forever. Then he proceeded to throw the prize away.
This stunt, although shocking to the many people watching in the building and at home, didn’t really faze BRIT Awards host Peter Kay. After Liam left the stage, he labeled the former star a k***head.
It’s a shame that the disgruntled brother is still so upset about the fight with his brother and break up of the group that he would be so disrespectful to the award ceremony and the fans, who obviously thought their album was good enough to beat out the likes of Phil Collins, Travis, Coldplay, Dire Straits, Dido and The Verve. Even Robbie Williams agreed that the album was the best in the last 30 years, saying that no one can argue that the album isn’t fantastic, which he said just the day before the event.
