Obama Reveals Health Care Plan
The US House of Representatives and the Senate have been working on a healthcare reform under the Obama administration for more than a year now. Their aim is to lower costs, enhance quality and guarantee choices for all Americans.
Then on Monday the White House released a health care plan from President Obama without a ‘Public Option’. In their presentation, they highlighted the major points that have changed.
The first of these is making insurance more affordable. They plan to do this by providing the biggest tax cut for healthcare in history to middle class taxpayers, which will reduce premium costs for millions of small business owners and families. The next change is to set up a new competitive market to give Americans the same choices that Congress members have. They also plan to keep premiums down and prevent the abuse and denial of health care.
One of the big changes is that they want to end discrimination on Americans that have a pre-existing condition, such as diabetes. There are still many diabetics in the US who are paying for everything out of pocket, because paying for insurance just isn’t possible, which only ends in a mountain of debt. Lastly, this plan is set to improve the country’s budget and economy by reducing the deficit about $1 trillion over the next 20 years.
The reform of the healthcare system has been a roller coaster ride, and this is the President’s best way to bridge the differences they have had over changing things. We can only hope that they will decide what works best soon, so that everyone can start benefiting from it.
