BBC Presenter Kristian Digby Found Dead

BBC television presenter Kristian Digby, from To Buy or Not To Buy, was found dead in his east London flat at about 7:45 Monday morning, according to police. They say that he was pronounced by ambulance services as dead at the scene upon their arrival, and they are describing the circumstances surrounding his death as unexplained.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said that they were called to reports of a 30-something year old man’s body being found on Richford Road, E15. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman added. A Scotland Yard police source said that Newham CID is investigating the unexplained circumstances.

However, other reports say that the presenter died suffocating himself for a thrill during a solo sex game. A source says that they believed he died from auto-erotic asphyxiation.

Digby was a property expert and a film director, creating short film Last Train to Demise, which won the Melbourne Film Festival’s Best Student Film award in 1998. In 1997, he also won a junior Bafta award for Words of Deception.

Tributes were paid to Digby on Monday night. A spokesman for the BBC said that he was a talented and much-loved presenter for BBC Daytime. He brought a real sense of warmth and energy to all the shows he was on and will be missed a lot, the spokesman added.

Jo Wander, Digby’s agent and friend, said that he is devastated by the loss, as he was a great guy and very talented director and presenter. He added that he will miss him very much, and his thoughts are with his family and many friends right now.
