Josh Dubovie Will Represent Britain at Eurovision

Josh Dubovie, Britain’s latest singing sensation, received the top honour of being chosen last night to represent England at the Eurovision Song Contest. Britain will send the 19-year old to Oslo, Norway this coming May to compete against top singers from across Europe.

According to the 19-year old himself, he believes that he has a good shot at winning the competition when he visits Oslo in May. Josh told media that he really believes he can bring home the win for Britain and make his home country proud.

He added that he is happy and amazed at how far he has come. Josh wowed audiences with his rendition of hit track That Sounds Good To Me co-written by Mike Stock and Pete Waterman. The 19-year old performed the song on BBC1’s Your Country Needs You.

Josh, who is from Basildon in Essex, took the most popular votes on the show after making his live performance earning him the prestigious honour of performing at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Following closely behind in popular votes was Alexis Gerred, an aspiring 20-year old singer from Biggin Hill in Kent. In third place was Esma Akkilic, a young 17-year old from North London.

The show featured six young performers who battled it out for the right to sing at Eurovision Song Contest in May. Each contestant competed against their peers for Britain’s popular vote.
