Lance Armstrong Denies Floyd Landis Allegations of Using Drugs

According to reports, US cyclist Floyd Landis has admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs. This comes after he has spent more than $2 million and 4 years trying to clear his name. Due to the doping charges, his win of the 2006 Tour de France has been revoked.

Landis said that, while he doesn’t feel guilty about having taken drugs since 2002, he publicly admits it to find relief for being deceitful for so many years. His mother didn’t even know. To ESPN.com earlier this week - his first interview about the issue - Landis said that he wants to clear his conscience and doesn’t want to be part of a problem anymore.

However, during his confession Landis also implicated Lance Armstrong and others as taking performance-enhancing drugs too. He even said that Armstrong helped him learn how to do it, saying that they discussed it a lot on training rides.

On Thursday morning, Armstrong held a media conference to deny the allegations, saying that he has nothing to hide. He said that he reminds everyone they have nothing to hide or run from. If anyone has any questions, he continued, they would be happy to answer them.

Landis is a man that has been under oath many times, wrote a book under a different premise, for which the story changes, and they are a little confused, Armstrong said. He lost his credibility a long time ago, and the right people know the truth, he added.

Armstrong also implied that he may consider suing Landis for the allegations. He said that legal action takes time, energy and a lot of money. He has sued a few people in his day, he added.
