Carphone Warehouse Announced Dell Streak Prices
The Dell Streak tablet computer will go on sale in the UK this Friday, and prices for the device have been revealed. The Streak is an Android-based device that was first revealed at the Electronics Show in January.
Carphone Warehouse says that they will be selling the unlocked Streak for £429. However, customers can also buy the device on a £25 per month tariff through the O2 mobile network. For unlimited calls and data, customers will have to pay a £35 a month tariff.
In comparison to the Dell Mini 2 smartphone, the new device has a 5 inch touchscreen, and although it looks like an iPhone, it is bigger. The unit is powered with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, features a webcam in the front and has a separate 5 megapixel camera on the back that includes dual LED flash. The Streak can also hold an up to 32GB micro SD card, as well as operate over both mobile and Wi-Fi networks.
Andrew Harrison, the chief executive of Carphone Warehouse, said that the Streak from Dell represents the beginning of a very exciting advancement for technology. The move into tablets means they can offer customers the functionality of laptops with the portability of mobile phones, he continued, by creating a new product range to allow them to stay connected on the go.
Dell president Ron Garriques says that the Streak hits a sweet spot between the traditional smartphone and larger-screen tablet. The unique size of the device gives people new ways to enjoy, navigate and connect their lives, he added.

I have seen loads of sites saying that the Carphone Warehouse is selling the Streak for £429 “unlocked”.
But after visiting 3 different stores and speaking to the Carphone Warehouse’s sales department twice, it would seem this isn’t the case.
Apparently, the £429 standalone “unlocked” offer is ACTUALLY for an O2 locked handset.
Not happy!
