Unilever signs IT contract with BT Global
Unilever has signed a four-year IT service contract with BT Global, with the ultimate goal of improving Unilever’s telecommunications infrastructure. The deal is worth £173 million, and through the help of BT, Unilever hopes to enhance the entire range of its communications endeavours, from supply chain initiatives to wireless technology.
According to Jeff Kelly, chief executive of BT Global, his company’s primary goal is to be a world-class partner to Unilever by assisting in its growth during the coming years. He went on to add that BT Global is determined to do everything it can to deliver outstanding customer service as well as provide innovations to help Unilever improve efficiency, cut costs, and deliver market leading brands to its customers and consumers.
Unilever Chief Enterprise Support Officer Pascal Visee said that the immediate goal for his company is to double its business in order that it can reach over four billion people each day, while simultaneously reducing its environmental impact. Mr Visee went on to say that BT Global is a trusted partner and can help Unilever achieve both immediate and long-term success.
BT Global originally began working with Unilever in 2002, and their initial partnership was the largest global telecommunications outsourcing initiative to date in the UK. The 2002 deal was estimated at over one billion pounds.
