Steven Slater to get His Own Reality Show

A lot of people wish that they could quit their 9-to-5 job and be featured on a reality television show, but this just isn’t realistic. However, it’s been reported that Steven Slater has been lucky enough to achieve this impossibility.

For those that don’t know, Slater is the now popular, or just well known, flight attendant that worked for JetBlue Airways - that is, until he exited a flight by deploying the emergency chute, grabbing a beer on his way out. The incident has caused a lot of buzz internationally, including the attention of people in the reality television business, according to tabloid TMZ.

It’s been reported that Slater may be getting his own show, with the goal of helping miserable workers quit their jobs with style. It’s understood that Stone Entertainment is the one to have made the offer. The American production company is the same that produced The Mole, Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, Top Design and NYC Prep. Although a television deal hasn’t been officially signed and may fall apart at any time, it’s been reported that the lawyer representing Slater has received the offer.

This comes after Slater said at the end of last week that he wants to keep flying, even for JetBlue Airways. This change of heart came during a press conference, with his attorney saying that he has loved working for the fair and understanding airline and wants to continue working for them. This is very unlikely, however.

In order for Slater to get another job or accept a reality show deal, he will have to escape a 7-year prison sentence. After being charged with criminal mischief, trespassing and reckless endangerment due to the incident, he was set free on $2,500 bail. His lawyer says that he is hopeful everything will work out, while the District Attorney’s office has said that the investigation is ongoing but is a serious case.
