Dollar Thrifty Expands Web Presence with CarTrawler Partnership

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, the car hire operator, has announced that they are expanding their web presence around the world. This comes after the firm partnered with CarTrawler, the Irish-based car hire technology company.

Under the partnership, Dollar Thrifty will significantly expand the number of websites they offer internationally. Dollar.co.uk and Prepaid.Thrifty.co.uk - 2 new sites - have already been redesigned and relaunched on the platform from CarTrawler. Future developments will mean that the Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental brands’ sites for Canada and Latin America will be redeveloped and relaunched by the end of 2010. The new sites will then allow global car hire customers the ability to book and fully pay in advance for their hires.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group president and chief executive Scott Thompson said that they are very thrilled to partner with CarTrawler, which is one of the world’s premier car hire technology firms. They look forward to greatly expanding their online presence around the world, he continued. Over time, this deal will allow them to better their relationship with international customers and offer exceptional value to them - in their native languages, which is something they’ve needed for a long time, he added.

CarTrawler chief operating officer Mike McGearty said that they are excited to be chosen by Dollar Thrifty as the backbone for their international expansion. The car hire firm’s worldwide customers will be able to book in any market, any country and any language with the platform, he continued. They believe this deal confirms their position as a leader in global car hire distribution, he added, and they are honored to be a strategic partner for Dollar Thrifty.
