Bank of Scotland has Worst Customer Service
Bank of Scotland has been ranked dead last in a survey about customer service carried out by Which?, the consumer group. The research finds that the biggest banks in the UK are the ones that frustrate customers the most.
The Which? survey singles out the best and worst brands across areas of mortgages, credit cards, savings and current accounts. According to the survey, the smaller banking brands in the market dominate the top half of the list, while the 5 largest in the sector were all in the bottom 10. The survey consists of research carried out on 31 banking brands.
Overall, First Direct, which is an HSBC brand, was number 1 after ranking first in mortgages, savings and current accounts. This gave the banking brand an 81% satisfaction rating overall. Second was One Account, and third was Smile, the internet bank.
With an average of 59% satisfaction across all the brands surveyed, Bank of Scotland ranked very last with a score of only 43%. Halifax, which is part of Lloyds Banking Group, came in just above the bank, while Santander placed third from the bottom. Two other Lloyds Banking Group brands were also in the bottom 5, while Royal Bank of Scotland placed 25th with a 53%, and Lloyds TSB and Barclays finished 23rd and 22nd respectively.
Which? chief executive Peter Vicary-Smith said that the big banks on the high street are found to be lacking time and time again when it comes to customer service. People that aren’t happy with their bank have to vote with their feet and switch to a better financial provider, he added.

At my office we would like to give RBS an award …..‘the worst customer service since 2005’. Unfortunately we need to deal with them since 2005 and the amount of errors made by RBS’s staff is just incredible!!!
