PC World Launches Media Streaming Service for iPad

PC World has announced that they are launching a new service for streaming media to iPads. This service has been designed with collaboration from Livedrive, the online storage company.

The iPad Media Streaming service allows users to store 100GB of data and media online. This can then be accessed and played via live streaming on a WiFi or 3G network. This service is available for £39.99 a year at all PC World and Currys locations now.

Now iPad owners will be able to back up most of their data and media files from their Mac or PC online and then use them on the mobile device, which ultimately expands its hard-drive by 100GB. This can also be used to stream photos, music and videos from multiple Macs and/or PCs on a home network.

After customers buy the service and software, all they will have to do is register and install the software on their computer. This will allow the computer to automatically scan for files to back up, as well as let the user choose what they what to store online. The service is very easy to use and is set to change the way iPad owners use the device.

This is a great optimization for the iPad, which has been criticized since its release earlier this year. Customers have have been disappointed with the lack of Flash. However, it doesn’t have a USB port - only a dock connector port and a headphone jack. It has a micro SIM card tray, but this is only available with models enabled for 3G and WiFi.
