Savings on airport parking with new site

With airline ticket prices once again stablising as budget carriers recover from the recession, the cost of airport parking is still high as ever.

As leading international airlines begin to recoup sales after one of the lowest economic downturns in decades, budget airlines are once again able to offer dirt cheap tickets. However, as ticket prices drop, parking prices have not yet begun to mirror the savings. Often travellers that arrive in their own vehicle pay high fees for parking.

According to MP from Glasgow North West, John Robertson, rates for airport parking have become astronomical. Citing his hometown as an example, Mr Robertson said that there are some flights that cost as little as a £1, but there is little being done to help motorists with parking fees. Glasgow, currently charges motorists a £1 for less than 20 minutes of parking and anything more than three hours is nearly £7.20. At Edinburgh Airport, parking attendants are going to begin asking for £1 from any drivers, regardless of if they park or not.

With parking fees continually on the rise, a new website has been launched to offer some insight into ways to save on expensive airport parking. Worldparking.co.uk works with parking lots in the US, Canada and the UK to highlight money-saving opportunities for motorists. Cheap airport parking can be found using the site’s easy-to-navigate search features.
