YouTube was hit with a hack attack of hundreds of uploaded porn videos that were disguised as videos for teens by artists such as the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana. Many of the clips started by featuring the artists, but then they switched to more graphic porn videos.
The attack on the social network was supposedly done by 4Chan, a bulletin board whose main focus is on Japanese anime and magna, some of which contains extreme sections. They claim on their site that anything and everything can happen there; they have their own unique culture and they are only the kind of group like this out there.
One of the hackers that has been reported uses the name Flonty. He told the BBC that he did the hack because YouTube continues to delete music and that the hack was part of a raid by 4Chan. He added that children will find material on the internet that is inappropriate anyway.
Google spokesman Scott Rubin said that they are aware of the hundreds of pornographic clips that were uploaded to the site. They are addressing the videos like they would any other video that is in violation of the community guidelines, he continued. Additionally, Rubin said that any account that is discovered that has been specifically set up to attack the site will be disabled.
Although Google has been deleting tons of these porno videos, some of them could exist for a while until the content is completely wiped from YouTube servers.
