Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney Help Introduce New Video Game
Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney took up the task of helping introduce the new video game ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ for Microsoft during their press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3. Others also made an appearance to promoted the game, including Yoko Ono, the widow of John Lennon; and Olivia Harrison, the widow of George Harrison. For those who don’t know, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison were the four members of The Beatles.
The new game is developed by Harmonix, and players can perform as The Beatles, starting with the band’s early days. The game will include all of the greatest hits from The Beatles, including I Saw Her Standing There, I Feel Fine, Day Tripper, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Taxman, Back In The USSR, Get Back, Here Comes The Sun, I Am The Walrus, and Octopus’s Garden, as well as another 35 songs.
The full album of Abbey Road will be available for download purchase in the future, along with other songs. The popular hit All You Need Is Love is one song that will only be available as an exclusive release for the Xbox 360, where it will be downloadable from Xbox LIVE. All of the proceeds from the downloads of the song will go to benefit Doctors Without Borders, a charity that Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Olivia Harrison, and Yoko Ono Lennon personally selected.
During the press conference, Microsoft announced that The Beatles: Rock Band will be released on September 9th for all home consoles. Each one will have 45 Beatles titles, but only the Xbox 360 will have exclusive hits available for download later.
