Two bodies have been recovered from the Atlantic Ocean where an Air France flight disappeared travelling from Brazil to France last Monday. Also found was a blue plane seat that Air France staff are trying to match by serial number to the missing jet.
A briefcase which had a flight ticket inside for the AF447 flight has also been found. Authorities are cautious of confirming these reports because of previous reports of wreckage found that turned out to be sea debris not connected to the plane at all.
The two bodies found were not far from where the last signal of the flight was sent. In total 24 error messages were sent in just a few minutes from the doomed flight that was flying into a stormy area and hit turbulence four hours into the journey.
Air France has stepped up its replacement of speed sensors but stressed that it was not because of a link it was simply taking extra precautions. Last year the company noticed that the sensors on some long haul flights were freezing up and began replacing them in April of this year.
The two male bodies were removed to nearby Fernando de Noronha islands where a team of experts on human remains are on their way to examine the find.
