Samantha Harris and More in Broadway’s Chicago
Samantha Harris, the Emmy Award nominee and television personality who has been seen on ‘The Insider’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’, is performing in the Broadway production of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre, along with a number of other cast members.
It was announced about the middle of May that Samantha Harris would be performing in the classic, and guests will get to watch her now until August 16th, playing as Roxie Hart. Aside from Samantha Harris performing at the Ambassador Theatre, she will also be seen at Greenville, South Carolina’s Peace Center from August 18th to August 23rd, during the Chicago national tour.
Additional changes have been made recently to the cast of Chicago, including Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn now until August 16th; Tom Riis Farrell as Amos Hart from now until August 9th; Roz Ryan as Mama Morton until August 30th, and Amra-Faye Wright will continue to play Velma Kelly until August 23rd.
Other cast members have already fulfilled their engagement for the tour. This included Tom Hewitt as Billy until July 5th; Raymond Bokhour as Amos until June 14th; Sofia Vergara as Mama Morton until June 7th; Chandra Wilson as Mama Morton until July 5th; Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie until June 14th; Bryn Dowling as Roxie until June 28th; and Bonnie Langford as Roxie until July 5th;
The musical includes music written by John Kander and Fred Ebb. Songs include ‘All That Jazz,’ ‘Razzle Dazzle,’ ‘Nowadays,’ and ‘Mister Cellophane.’ The show is directed by Walter Bobbie, and the choreography has been put together by Ann Reinking. At the Tony Awards in 1997, Broadway’s Chicago won six awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
