‘Why R U’ Video by Amerie Premiers on BET Before Single Hits the Radio
Amerie, 29, has released the video for her new single ‘Why R U’. The video was scheduled to be shown on ‘106 & Park’ on the BET network on Monday, where Amerie joined Rocsi and Terrence, the hosts of the show, to present the clip of the video. The ‘Why R U’ video is directed by Ray Kay, and its main focus is on the performance of the R&B singer.
‘Why R U’ is worked on by The Buchanans for the Def Jam debut album ‘In Love & War’ from Amerie. The new album from the Grammy nominee is set to be released in August, so far. The new song, which is the first song from the album, has been debuted since May on the singer’s MySpace page, but it is set to hit the radio on June 15th.
The new album will feature productions from Teddy Riley, Eric Hudson, Rico Love, Jim Johnson, Brian Michael, and Sean Garrett. Teddy Riley helped produce ‘Tell Me You Love Me’; Eric Hudson and Sean Garret worked on ‘Hear ‘Em All’; Rico Love and Jim Johnson helped with ‘Swagback’; while Brian Michael worked on ‘Red Eye’. Aside from these names, Amerie is also rumored to have teamed up with Trey Songz on a remake of the song ‘Pretty Brown Eyes’.
Amerie signed to Def Jam during the spring of last year after she left Sony Records, which released her last two albums. However, her first album ‘All I Have’ was released by Columbia Records, featuring her ‘Why Don’t We Fall In Love’ breakout single.
