Lack of holiday bookings lead to great deals
Discounted holiday packages have been readily available since the credit crunch started to take its toll on the world. Travel companies are offering great value prices and bargain holiday deals to entice travellers on a holiday this year, in response to the tough financial situation affecting many. Thomas Cook is even offering an unbeatable accommodation deal in Turkey that equates to a hotel price of only £2 per night.
Even though travel firms have been dishing out fantastic deals, many of them have been left with thousands of unsold package holidays in the normally fully booked months of July and August. Knowledgeable industry experts believe that if booking number’s don’t see a significant rise this weekend, these companies may have to further slash their already lowered prices in order to keep their heads above water.
The usual process for Brits booking their holiday will begin about two months before they plan to travel but recent times have shown that people are leaving it as late as only three weeks before they plan to go away, as more and more people try to seek out cheaper late deals. The dramatic decrease of the value of the pound to the dollar and the euro also encouraged more Brits to stay in the UK for their holiday.
