Michael Jackson had Vitiligo, Lupus and Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency
Aside from being addicted to pain killers, Michael Jackson was also struggling against vitiligo, lupus, and Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, which are all autoimmune disorders. Deepak Chopra, one of Jackson’s long time friends, confirmed reports dating back to 2007 that the pop star had lupus, which can affect any body part. Vitiligo is a disorder that causes depigmentation of skin in patches, and there has been some evidence linking the disorder to a combination of environmental, genetic, and autoimmune factors.
Chopra said that Jackson had a lot of white blotches on his skin, so he would cover himself up, giving the media something more to write about. Gotham, Chopra’s son, said that the vitiligo disorder bothered the singer more. He said that Jackson was very disturbed that people thought he wanted to be white and was bleaching his skin. It bothered him that people thought he hated being black, he continued. Lupus also bothered him a lot, Gotham added.
It has been claimed by Ian Halperin, the author of Jackson’s biography ‘The Final Years of Michael Jackson’, that the pop star had Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, another genetic disorder that can cause chronic obstructive lung disease during the adult ages of life. Those who have the disorder have to avoid damaging inhalants, which is why the singer was seen in public with a surgical mask so often.
The author also claims that about half a year ago he predicted that Jackson may die in 6 months. However, Tohme Tohme, Jackson’s official spokesman, dismissed the prediction as complete fabrication.

Got something to say?

we love you no matter what,,you are entitled to your own privacy, and you do not owe anybody any explanation as to what realy happened in your private life,,you are our hero and still human..in my heart you still live, somewhere safe from the media..we luv you king
I am sad to tell that I did myself assume his bleaching was voluntary, until now, reading about his vitiligo. His appearance put me off strongly. I accepted in ignorance the joke about “Only in America can a poor black boy grow up to be a rich white woman”. I assumed he had fled in contempt from his blackness, including his physiognomy, with plastic surgery and unknown procedures.
Only now, with his music playing non-stop where I work do I realize just how expert and gifted a singer he was.
I remember one video I caught of him dancing as a zombie, like a horror movie of “undead” fugitives from a quiet grave, and have felt repulsed by him ever since.
Very possibly his skin condition and other unbearable stresses took away his ability to “feel comfortable in his own skin”, and that zombie routine was a cry of pain and utter despair.
Michael, I’m truly sorry.
Why is it only now that people are explaining in full the nature of vitiligo and lupus?
Surely if people were educated they would have understood what MJ was going through much clearer and sooner. It certainly opened my eyes and senses!
I had no idea that vitiligo could be treated by depigmentation using a medication to even out the skin until I read it. I already knew about skin bleaching; it’s been happening for years and many black people bleach their skin, however you have to keep using it to get any kind of result. I knew there must have been more to MJ’s skin but not as much as I understand now.
I thought it was all the skin bleaching that eventually ruined his skin because it can besides trying to evening out the skin.
With all of his insecurities he never gave up doing what he loved and did best. If it wasn’t for the love of fans, family and the Grace of God, I don’t think he would have lasted as long as he did and with all the accusations of being a child pervert. Plus even when he had his own children they still accused him of being a child pervert duh!
Lastly, it was not all of the above that killed him it was his ‘enablers’ and may justice be served in such a way that it will never, ever be repeated again.
RIP Michael Joseph Jackson
