Jets put Calvin through his paces
A blow for the New York Jets this week. Lineback Calvin Pace has been suspended for the first four games of this season after he was caught abusing the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
Pace will have to wait until after the Jets’ October 4th game against the New Orleans Saints before he can return.
Calvin Pace was apologetic in a recent statement that was released by the Jets. He claimed he had unknowingly violated the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy as he had been taking an over-the counter dietary supplement.
“I am responsible for what I put into my body and I should have paid closer attention to the League’s guidelines. I regret that this has happened and apologize to my teammates, the entire Jets organization as well as the fans,” Pace said. “Hopefully, this does not distract from our ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl.”
Pace’s fans will have to wait until week 5 to see him play against the Miami Dolphins. Until then, second-year linebacker Vernon Gholston is expected to fill in for Pace.
