‘True Blood’ Cast Goes to Comic-Con
At Comic-Con on Saturday the executive producer of ‘True Blood’, Alan Ball, told fans of the HBO vampire show that they will get to enjoy a third season. Plus, Charlaine Harris, the author of the books, told fans that she has signed a deal to write three more.
What really got the fans riled up was when Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin, and Alexander SkarsgÄrd told them that their love triangle is going to get even hotter during the second half of the current season. Moyer has promised that his Bill will be fighting harder for Sookie, who is increasingly attracted to Eric. When the executive producer was asked if the romance will continue to follow the arc of the books, Ball hesitated, but answered yes.
The main theme for the last half of this season is war, and Ball says that he looks forward to introducing the werewolves and Mississippi vampires from the novels into the series for the third season. However, he said that he doesn’t intend to bring in the character Bubba, who was a favorite among fans of the books. Harris has admitted to being shocked by this at first, but says that she doesn’t feel obligated to write according to the series, as neither one of them tell each other how to do their jobs.
Also at Comic-Con, Ball said that a real beverage for ‘True Blood’ will become available for fans to purchase as of September 10. He joked that the ingredients will be cabernet, vodka, ecstasy, viagra, and the blood of European hemophiliac royalty, which is highly illegal. The drink is actually an orange soda.
