‘The Bachelorette’ Jillian Harris Makes Final Choice and Gets Ring
Jillian Harris, ‘The Bachelorette’ Canadian beauty, has finally found the love she was looking for, as well as a best friend. On Monday night, she accepted the proposal from Ed Swiderski, the Chicago computer software consultant, on the finale of the season. Then after she assured him that he was the one, saying: ‘There’s no doubt in my mind that I’m madly in love with you’, Swiderski got down on his knee and placed a $60,000 Neil Lane diamond and platinum ring on her finger.
Early on in the season, Swiderski has piqued the interest of Harris, a 29-year-old restaurant designer. He left in the fifth week after feeling pressure from his work, which caused Harris to uncontrollably sob. Then he returned after confessing to her that he couldn’t stop thinking about her.
While the season progressed, Harris became concerned that neither of them had met each others’ families, so Swiderski flew his parents to Hawaii for a meeting. Hawaii was the couple’s last romantic destination.
However, Harris still had to make her decision, and on Monday night she stood on the outdoor platform waiting for the other bachelor, Kiptyn Locke, the California business developer, to arrive. She politely broke the news to him that he wasn’t the one and waited for Swiderski. But instead, Reid Rosenthal, the Philadelphia realtor, was the next to arrive. He was dismissed the week before and poured his heart out to Harris, falling to one knee to propose. It was obvious that she was moved, but she had to send him away again.
Then Swiderski arrived in a white limo and confidently walked to Harris, declaring that he wants to be with her forever and have a family with her. He said that he wants her to give him a hard time when they’re 80, and then asked her to marry him. She exclaimed: ‘Absolutely!’
The couple will reunited on Tuesday at 10pm EST for the ‘After The Final Rose’ episode.
