Jet2holidays Creates New Job Positions

Last week, Jet2holidays was praised following their decision to relocate their Delhi call center, helping to create new jobs for locals. Greg Mulholland, a Leeds North West Liberal Democrat MP, visited the airline’s Leeds/Bradford Airport headquarters, meeting Richard Bodin, the Managing Director of the carrier, in order to tour their facilities. A total of 40 positions are to be created, with 30 made immediately and 10 more to come over the next few months.

Mulholland praised the relocation of their facilities, while he also encouraged other businesses throughout the region to aid with creating further employment opportunities. He said that during the current environment of the economy, it is pleasing that the creation of new jobs is occurring, which are much needed for the local people, at this great new facility. It is also great to see that a company based locally is doing so well, he added, and it is important for other locally based businesses to use local resources, ensuring that the outlook for the jobs market is healthy.

At the end of last year, the Delhi call center of Jet2holidays was relocated back to Yorkshire. As part of a recruitment process for new workers at the center, Jet2holidays is placing an emphasis on hiring either former travel representatives, travel agents, or others who have experience in the tourism and travel industry.

Bodin said that their customers were showing a desire to book holidays with local people who have experiences of the destinations offered, as well as to receive expert advice and friendly reassurance on the phone. So they felt that by relocating their call center back home, they would be able to provide their customers’ wants through the employment of the best staff from the local vicinity, he added.
