‘The X-Factor’ Contestant Danyl Johnson Wows Simon Cowell
On the Saturday night debut of ‘The X-Factor’ season six on ITV, an impressive Danyl Johnson dazzled Simon Cowell with his rendition of ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’ by The Beatles. The Reading school teacher even got a standing ovation from the reality show’s judge.
After the performance and the other judges gave their praises of Danyl’s auditioning performance, Cowell said that it was “single-handedly the best first audition I have ever heard.” He also added that Danyl “could be one of the best contestants we’ve ever had.”
Now Danyl has become an internet sensation much like Susan Boyle and has even received offers to appear on shows in the US. The Sun has reported that he is expected to appear on the ‘Today’ show, after bosses at NBC invited him. It is understood that he may be leaving for New York later this week. A source close to Danyl said that the ‘Today’ show requested his appearance this week, as they believe him to be a real star. He thinks this is an amazing opportunity, the source added.
Plus, almost 1 million people watched his performance on YouTube only two days after the audition was aired on television. A source from ITV even admitted to The Sun that they never expected things would move so quickly. This is the first time that a contestant from ‘The X-Factor’ has been invited to the US to appear on a show. However, many performers from ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ have, like Susan Boyle.
