‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Lineup Revealed
The reality competition series ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has revealed its new lineup of competitors for its seventh run. Among the star contestants are Joe Calzaghe, Phil Tufnell, Lynda Bellingham, Martina Hingis, and Rav Wilding. Natalie Cassidy and Rick Groves, along with Ali Bastian and Ricky Whittle, will compete with Chris Hollins. Zoe Lucker will compete on the dance floor against Laila Rouass, while Richard Dunwoody and Jade Johnson will represent the sports world as well. Craig Kelly and Jo Wood complete the line up.
The series will start on Friday, September 18 and will air on BBC One. There have also been some changes announced to the Saturday night show in how the competition is run. For the first two weeks, the 16 competitors will be split into two groups. However, they won’t be split into male and female groups as they have done in the past.
There will also be shows on Friday and Saturday during these two weeks, but the results, which are usually shown on Sunday, will be shelved in favor of adding them to an extended Saturday night edition. The rules have also been changed so that if the scores from the judges result in a tie, one of the couples can be saved in a dance-off.
There have also been changes to the judges’ panel, where Arlene Phillips will be replaced by former winner Alesha Dixon. However, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Craig Revel Horwood will return to the panel. Darcey Bussell, a former Royal Ballet star, will appear as a guest judge for the last three shows, and Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth will return as presenters.
