2010 Glastonbury Sold Out

This year’s Glastonbury must have made a huge impact on festival-goers, because the festival for next year sold out of available tickets on just the first day they were on sale. The tickets went on sale at 9am on Sunday (October 4) and were all sold by 9pm.

However, the 2010 Glastonbury Festival will be the 40 year anniversary, so it won’t be a small thing. Because of the 40-year mark, festival organizers will expand the non-music festivities and try to get the best performers that they can.

Michael Eavis, the founder of the event, said that people are interested in the 40-year anniversary, and they are all asking about it wherever he goes. Everyone’s expectations are high, he continued, and they will have to deliver the best.

Michael’s daughter and the co-organizer of the festival, Emily, said that there are many great ideas coming up for the milestone event, and she thinks it’s going to be a really good year. It has been an interesting journey over the years, so there is much to celebrate, she added.

On the Glastonbury website they posted a statement that all of the tickets had sold out. They thanked everyone who purchased tickets, but added that anyone who didn’t get a ticket on Sunday will be able to try their hand at reserving tickets on October 12, which will be from failed and canceled transactions.

The festival is set to take place next June 23 - 27, and although they haven’t set a lineup, the John Vistic Expreience of Bristol is set to perform. The band won the Rockstar 09 competition, which automatically gave them a spot at the festival next year.
