Miley Cyrus Explains Deleted Twitter Account, Courtney Love Closes Accounts
At the end of last week, Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account, with her last post saying that her new boyfriend Liam Hemsworth doesn’t have one, so she deleted hers with good reason - and because he asked her to. This message sent waves through the media, not to mention the fact that her page was no longer there when they tried to view it.
Since the fan and media outcry for her return, Miley has defended her decision, saying that she didn’t delete her account just because Liam told her to. The young star actually made a rap, which was posted on YouTube, to tell her fans and the media why she made the decision.
Miley sings that she was tired of the media taking simple posts that she made and turning them into news headlines. She notes that she was giving up much of her personal life by tweeting so much, and she needs to have her privacy, as well as a little bit of a normal life. Miley also raps that she will be cutting back on more than just Twitter and even advises fans to take a holiday from Cyberspace.
This is one of the best ideas from a celebrity, as Twitter has really gotten out of hand. Yes, it’s a great way to stay connected and make fans and celebrities feel more like friends, but it’s also really sad that so many people out there don’t have anything else better to do than read what a singer or actor is eating, when they wake up in the morning, or any other petty normal thing that people do on a regular basis.
It seems that another celebrity has seen the light as well, as Courtney Love has closed out both of her accounts. Her two accounts were under the names courtneylover79 and clcobain.
