Many Angry over Meghan McCain Twitter Photo
Meghan McCain, the daughter of 2008 presidential candidate John McCain, posted a photo of herself on Wednesday night on her Twitter page. The photo, which features the 24-year-old girl holding a biography of Andy Warhol and sporting a revealing tank top, created a lot of controversy on Thursday after Twitter fans made a big deal about it.
Seriously? This isn’t anything that a normal girl wouldn’t have done, and it is nowhere in the same ballpark as what many other Twitter users or even MySpace users post on their pages. Granted…this isn’t the typical picture one would find of a Senator’s daughter and was a bad choice, but she has suffered much criticism over the post, which was not deserved.
Many people were posting comments calling her a slut and saying that she was only crying out for attention and basically point out her breasts for people to look at. This was obviously not her intention - not like the other million or more users who really do that.
Over the course of the day, Meghan went from justifying the photo to feeling remorse and apologizing to the public. She said that she wasn’t thinking about what she was wearing and was actually considering deleting her account, as she was now feeling harassed instead of having fun. Then she posted again, after the guilt kicked in, that she apologizes to those who were offended by her pic. She clearly made a mistake, she added, and is sorry.
Later, Meghan thanked her family and friends for supporting her and said that she has learned from the experience and will be more careful about her posts in the future. This is good! We would hate for all these people to get their panties in a wad for no reason again!
