Charlize Theron auctions off kiss at OneXOne charity auction
Charlize Theron took part in a live auction last night which ended with more than the audience had bargained for. The actress was set to participate in a charity auction last night at the OneXOne charity event. However, when fellow actor Jeremy Pivon’s prize began to outbid Charlize Theron’s, the actress took matters in to her own hands.
Ms. Theron was scheduled to auction off an all inclusive trip to the 2010 World Cup being held in South Africa which would also include tickets to the matches, a meeting with Nelson Mandela, and an African safari. However, when bidding halted at $37,000 the actress shouted out that she would not leave the charity auction with Jeremy Piven getting a higher bid that her.
After that things began to get messy, when the actress announced she would kiss the lucky bidder to win her auction prize. Moments prior, Piven had managed to raise $280,000 for the charity with his auction prize.
Upon announcing the ‘kiss’ as a reward to the highest bidder, the audience once again began bidding on the World Cup tickets. A female participant finally won the prize with a high bid of $140,000 pushing Ms. Theron into numbers much closer to Piven’s.
After the winner was announced, Ms. Theron delivered on her promise of a winning kiss and joked with audience members about her boyfriend’s absence from the party. Those in attendance were treated to quite an unusual evening thanks to Ms. Theron’s last minute antics.
