Cheryl Cole Tops Charts with Fight For This Love

Cheryl Cole’s solo career is starting off with a bang after her first single hit number one on the music charts. “Fight For This Love” sold over 290,000 copies before the new album was even released yesterday. This made her song become the fastest-selling single for the year, topping the 185,000 copies sold of “X Factor” celebrity winner Alexandra Burke’s “Bad Boys” the week before, which pushed Cole’s former student to second on the chart.

The premiere of the single was on BBC Radio One, and it was written by Wayne Wilkins, Andre Merritt and Steve Kipner - writers who have also written songs for popular artists Rihanna, Christina Aguilera and Chris Brown.

Cole has undoubtedly got a smile on her face permanently, and she said that can’t believe the single is number one already, as she was only now getting over the fact that she recorded a solo record. She added in an interview that it’s hard for her to put how she feels into words.

The Girls Aloud singer has taken off due to her role as a judge on reality competition series “X Factor”, during which she also performed her new single last week. There were 12.7 million viewers watching that performance, for which has been headlined in the news for the entire week. This also cast speculation early last week that Cheryl would break records and take the top spot on the charts, which was delivered.

There’s no doubt that Cheryl deserves this, as she has worked hard to launch her solo career while being a judge on “X Factor”. She has the voice, body, style and personality of a great performer, and she will do well for herself on her own.
