New Study: Curry May Cure Cancer
In the ever growing list of cures or remedies for cancer, curry is about to join the ranks. That’s right, curry. The spicy, Indian dish is a popular cuisine around the world, and now scientists are saying it could boast cancer curing agents.
The unprecedented study was tested on oesophagus cancer in a laboratory after it was found that the chemical curcumin, located in the popular spice turmeric which is used in curry, was discovered to have healing properties.
Turmeric is the spice in curry which gives it its unique yellow coloring. Scientists working at the Cork Cancer Research Centre located in Ireland said that during their research cancer cells died when exposed to curcumin and began digesting themselves.
Research is still being conducted though, because experts have said that the spice loses it’s cancer curing properties quickly if ingested. Sharon McKenna, the author of a study in Ireland, suggested that the results of the testing could be beneficial in developing a pill based on the curcumin drug which could treat oesophageal cancer.
Oesophageal cancer is responsible for the deaths of more than 500,000 individuals a year. Many of the tumours for this particular cancer are particularly deadly, and most people diagnosed are only given a five year survival rate.
McKenna announced that her study displayed hopeful results that curcumin could be used to aggressively treat the cancer which claims the lives of so many. Could it be that curry is the new cure for cancer, or is this just a string in a long line of hopeful alternatives that never pan out?

they will never pan out if the pharmaceutical company does not reap a large profit from it…it is a natural substance..and cannot be patented..therefore no profit..unless they can devise a unique delivery system and patent that..now that the word is out..pharmaceutical companies are now putting pressure on the health food stores to stop stocking the substance..what does it mean? it means it works..and they are mad they cannot make moneyoff of it.
