Rachel Adedeji Eliminated from X Factor
X Factor contestant Rachel Adedeji has been eliminated from the reality competition series after losing a third sing-off. John and Edward are, of course, still in the competition after another deafening performance.
After performing in the sing-off, Simon Cowell told Rachel that, even though she sang better than Lloyd Daniels (who had a sore throat), he couldn’t ignore that she wasn’t very popular with the public. So, since the judges vote on sing-offs, he used his vote to create a tie, for which the viewers would have to vote to decide who goes home.
Obviously they decided to send Rachel home, and she started crying when she was told. She was very grateful for her chance to be on the show though, thanking everyone who supported her and told Dannii Minogue, who was her mentor, that she is amazing.
However, the fact that Jedward are still in the competition is confusing, as they probably couldn’t sing on key if their lives depended on it. The two sang Queens “We Will Rock You” and were enough to ruin the song’s reputation. They also continue to look awkward on stage in their movements.
Don’t you have to be able to carry a tune to be in a competition like this? There are, no doubt, thousands of people who have asked this same question in relation to the twins, but they have built up such a huge following that they will probably still be in the competition for a couple more weeks - to the disliking of Simon and many viewers of course. May the nightmare continue…

Got something to say?

The producers of the programme love this type of controversy. They hope it will lead to more members of the public paying to vote on premium rate telephone call to get this silly pair voted of. They will only be voted of by members of the public voting for the other acts. More votes more revenue, simple me thinks.
Rachel was blatantly cheated by Cowell. Why have a sing off and then pick the one who couldn’t lace her shoes. The whole shows a total rip off and only geared for somebody to make the final record for Christmas. Under the circumstances even Lloyds mentor should have told the truth and put her through. In the 60s any act would have to do three spots, and that’s approx 24 songs. Take away all the professional recording equipment hidden behind the stage and very few of them
would obtain a gig any where.
Well done Rachel

you know, X Factor is a great show! The ratings confirm that. Its great entertainment. Super to give these wannabees a chance of stardom. However, when you leave their fate totally in the hands of the general public, thats when it turns to mush! Why not have a voting scheme in place similar to the Strictly scheme whereby the judges score is half of the votes? At least that way there is more than a fair chance that people who can actually sing will get a fair crack of the whip and not eliminated prematurely to make way for people who are either tone deaf or havent the range in their voice or the special stage presence. Come on Mr. Cowell, rethink this please or we will get the same situation next year if the wrong people are chosen from boot camp.
