Elton John Hospitalized and Cancels Tour Dates

Elton John has been made to cancel even more of his tour dates after continuing to fight off an infection of E. coli, as well as a bad case of the flu, according to reports. The singer and musician was actually hospitalized on Friday and is being treated at the central London’s King Edward VII Hospital.

Sir Elton was battling a case of the flu for about two weeks, but his condition got worse with the E. coli infection. His partner David Furnish spent most of Saturday at the hospital and, as he was leaving, told media sources that Sir Elton is doing fine.

His doctors have advised him to delay 3 concerts that were scheduled in the US this month with Billy Joel until he is recovered. The performances that were delayed were scheduled for November 4, 7, and 10 in Seattle and Portland. He has previously postponed gigs in Dublin, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and London during the last few weeks after becoming ill with the flu. All of the concerts he has canceled so far are due to be rescheduled after Sir Elton has regained his health.

A spokesman for the singer and musician says that he is recovering from a very bad case of influenza with minor complications. They are confident Sir Elton will be on stage again very soon, and they are talking to the concert promoters about venue availability in hopes of rescheduling the canceled shows. The spokesman added that everyone who had tickets to the delayed shows should keep them for the rescheduled ones.
